Keep Bulloch Beautiful to improve Statesboro Food Bank

As part of Step Into Statesboro, which will happen this Friday, August 18, Keep Bulloch Beautiful and the Food Bank are partnering to do a beautification project on the Food Bank grounds. Among the projects to be completed are landscaping in front of the building, along the street and on each side of the building. In addition, a drop-off/pick-up parking space will be added to the side of the property.

Volunteers from Keep Bulloch Beautiful, the Food Bank and GSU will all work together to improve the property. “We decided to do a beautification project for the Food Bank because they use every bit of their budget for groceries, and very little is left for property improvement. The Food Bank is a great community center, and this project will expose a lot of new GSU students to it. I hope they’ll volunteer with both the Food Bank and Keep Bulloch Beautiful again and again,” said Brooke Brandenburg, director of Keep Bulloch Beautiful.

Step Into Statesboro is a program coordinated by the office of volunteer services at GSU. Agencies and volunteers all over town pair up to improve Statesboro in various ways and to expose students to the many volunteer opportunities in Statesboro.
